Love from another perspective

Once upon a time, 
I added first post here,
debating on what love was. 
Since then 5 years passed,
and looking at it now, 
I see how my point of view changed. 
I still believe that there's no one definition of love. 

We can't judge what others perceive as this feeling. 
But I do know what it means to me. 
Love is a decision. 

It is something you decide to do each and everyday.

It is not easy.

Love is work, 

because people are different,

because we come with experience.

But also, 

Love is fun,  

and comfort,

and warmth, 

and passion. 

You can be yourself without being judged. 

Love is trust,

since you cannot control somebody's actions, 

and thoughts, 

but you can control your trust, 

and faith. 

You can believe in them. 

You can trust them. 

You can trust yourself, 

that no matter what happens you will be okay.

Love is all those things, 

but most importantly,

love cannot be without you being full-filled with yourself first.

I don't believe that others are here to complete us, 

or that someone will be my everything,

they can't be,

that is too much to expect from another human being. 

that is not how it works.

You are your everything.

You are complete the way you are.

Once you have that, 

you can give love to others.

Without it being pressure.

Immune

Calmness through the storm. 

Another scratch on the heart,
another crack. 
It doesn't hurt anymore, 
once you learn to live with it.
It becomes a part of you, 
part of you that makes you stronger.

You learn to live,

with the pain.

Trust

Probably the hardest of things you can do,
trusting your friend that they are not talking bad things behind your back, 
trusting your loved ones that they are not gonna hurt you, 
It is hard. 
Especially when it’s been broken before. 
You have no power over other people's actions. 
You cannot make them be faithful. 
All you can do is trust them, 
and believe that what they say is true.
And if they break your heart,
then it means they didn’t care anyway,
So why bother keeping them in your life?
When we only get so little time on this planet,
trust is all we can do,
trust in others,
but also trust and faith in yourself.
